If the soul requires a vacation, vivid impressions, and aesthetic pleasure, don’t waste your time and  immediately buy a ticket for Santorini Island, because here, in abundance, there is everything you need. Unique architecture - there it is! Also, there are fascinating mountains, Smoldering volcanoes, and the deep blue sea! Spacious best sandy beaches, magnificent sunsets, delicious food, luxury hotels, hospitable locals - and this is not all of the list of Santorini's advantages.

Here is some advice on what to do in Santorini to feel the spirit of this dream island and get the most out of it.

1. Lost in Oia and have dinner with a view of the Caldera

Oia is undoubtedly the most beautiful and unusual city on Santorini. It is quite expensive and not everyone can stay here, but everyone can come here for a day and enjoy the local beauties: white-blue houses, old mills, narrow interlocking streets, stone steps flowing one into another, flowers creeping on the walls, unforgettable landscapes and, of course, the volcanic caldera is a funnel formed as a result of the eruption.

At the edge of the Santorini caldera are the most expensive restaurants of Oia but do not spare money and order at least a cocktail or coffee to sit at a table on the edge of the universe and think about the charmed and wonderful of this area.

2. Visit the ancient cities of Akrotiri, Perissa, Kamari, and Pyrgos

Santorini is not only Fira and Oia but also a dozen small towns and villages that have something to show you. White-blue churches of Pyrgos, the magnificent beaches of Perissa, the archaeological museum of Akrotiri, the Red Beach and many other attractions are waiting for you here.

It is not worth a lot if you want to relax in Santorini and save money, you should also pay attention to Perissa and Kamari because these are not only one of the most beautiful, but also the cheapest cities in Santorini. Prices for hotels, food, and entertainment here are at least 30% lower than in Fira and Oia, and you can get to them from here in less than an hour.

3. Arrange a photoshoot at sunset

Sunsets on Santorini are considered to be perhaps the most beautiful in the world, so it can be perceived as one of the attractions. You can meet the famous sunsets in Oia, Fira or at the lighthouse of Faros. In the latter, unlike Fira and Oia, there are very few people, and the sunsets are no less magical, there also is a high probability that there will be no one at all except you.

To keep this wonderful moment forever in memory, we advise you to arrange a photo session. The shooting is ideally complemented by the famous flying dress, which can be rented in SantoriniDress. And even more, best view for a photoshoot in Santorini, you can find out from the article Best Santorini Locations for a Sunset Photoshoot.

4. Rent a car, ATV or bike and explore the island.

Every corner of Santorini is worth stopping and taking a photo. Here, at every step, magnificent views, impregnable cliffs, mountain peaks, and romantic white and blue houses, as if spilled over the rocks. Transport rental prices here are more than budget ones - you can rent a comfortable Ford Focus for about 20 euros per day, an ATV will cost a little more – and you can not think of a route at all – just go along the island and have fun.

A small hint: put on closed clothing so you don’t get sunburned. It’s also cold in the evenings in low season, so a jacket might come in handy. And of course, don't forget the camera.

Riding a bike or ATV is quite dangerous, don’t forget it. Be careful on the road, any view isn't worth your life.

5. Visit the best beaches in Santorini – White, Red and Black

White and Red beaches are located in the resort village of Akrotiri, and Black – in Perissa. It is better to go to the unearthly beauty of Red Beach early in the morning, when crowds of tourists have not arrived here yet, and already till 9-10 o’clock, but you can spend all day on Cherney or Bely – they are well equipped for relaxation, you can rent a sun lounger and an umbrella and inexpensive lunch at one of the local cafes.

6. Try Greek cuisine

Musaka, pastitsio, beans, souvlaki, Greek salad, gyros, dolma – this is only a small part of the luxury that Santorini Greece has prepared for its guests. It does not matter where you relax – in elegant Oia or cozy Perissa – the food will be very tasty and fragrant, and the waiters are welcoming. Prices, of course, will vary. In Fira and Oia, an account usually goes 30-50% higher than in similar cafes of Perissa or Kamari.

Santorini Island is a truly unique and charming place that will remain in your hearts for a whole life. It amazes with bewitching beauty, tranquility, silence and inspires the ability to appreciate what we have at the moment.
