How to get to Akrotiri on Santorini?

In the southern part of the Greek island of Santorini are the ruins of Akrotiri, one of the most developed Bronze Age settlements. From Fira, you can reach this place by car or shuttle bus. The remains of the ancient city, which was destroyed by a volcanic eruption in 1500 BC, have been excellently preserved and attract many tourists from all over the world.

Visitors can see ancient ruins, including surviving parts of houses with marvelous frescoes on the walls, artisans' workshops, furniture, dishes, and other household items. Multi-story buildings and other complex architectural structures were faced with masonry.
